| Explore Thailand’s west coast and Marine National Parks along the shoreline from Phuket to Krabi province. Discover the sheer limestone rocks that jut vertically out of the emerald green water of Phang Nga Bay and explore the surrounding labyrinths of steep cliffs, tiny lagoons and natural formed caves. Drive southwards along the coast to Krabi and visit the Than Bokkhorani National Park with its small waterfalls, crystal clear natural pools, surrounding limestone islands and a cave with prehistoric paintings. From Krabi the tour will lead you the million of years old dense jungles and the breathtaking landscapes of Khao Sok National Park. Finally drive to Surat Thani on Thailand’s western gulf coast. Opportunity to continue to Koh Samui or other offshore islands with their white sandy beaches and crystal clear warm waters. |

Day 1 Phuket – Phang Nga - Krabi (L)
In the morning pick up from the hotel in Phuket and drive northwards to Phang Nga Bay. After arrival boat trip along the water canals passing dense mangrove forests and several limestone rock formations that are covered with cycads and prickly pears. Visit Koh Tapu also known as James Bond Island and its famous mushroom rock. Afterwards, drive to a local floating village that is built on wooden stilts above the water of Phang Nga Bay. Visit the small village and enjoy lunch at sea food restaurant overlooking the bay and the surrounding limestone islands. After lunch return by boat back to the waiting car. Continue to Ao Luk district and visit the Than Bokkhorani National Park. The park inhabits a variety of tropical plants and mangrove forests. Worth seeing are the small waterfalls, crystal clear natural pools, surrounding limestone islands and a cave with prehistoric paintings. Afterwards, drive to Krabi town and check in at the hotel. Time to explore the town and visit a local night market.
Day 2 Krabi – Khao Sok (B/L/D)
After breakfast drive Khao Sok National Park. On the way visit Wat Bang Riang. The temple contains several structures including an elaborate bell-shaped pagoda. The hilltop pagoda overlooks the surrounding mountains and hills as well as a huge Buddha image and Chinese Goddess statue. Drive to Ratchaprabha Dam. Boat trip along the lake. The lake is surrounded by limestone mountains and cliffs covered in tropical rainforest that rise up from the shore of the lake and disappear into the far distance. The scenery has been compared to Qualin in China or Halong Bay in Vietnam. Few people know of the lake and even less have visited it. There are over one hundred islands in the lake and it is over 60 km from north to south. Lunch at a local restaurant on the lake. Continue to the hotel for check in. After check in opportunity to explore the ecology of the rainforest, to see a great variety of exotic plants, tropical hardwood trees with huge roots, orchids, palms, ferns and bamboos. Dinner at the resort and overnight stay.
Day 3 Khao Sok – Surat Thani (B)
After breakfast enjoy a canoe ride along the Sok River through its evergreen rain forest. Afterwards, trek on the back of an Elephant through the Jungle.
Optional: Trekking through the National Park.
Departure also possible from Khao Lak and Krabi.
Optional drop of at Phuket, Krabi, Khao Lak, ferries to Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao or at Surat Thani airport or train station. End of service. |
