| Roundtrip from the Andaman Coast passing Phang Nga Bay and the Khao Sok national Park to the Gulf of Siam. This extraordinary trip will take you along local roads to the massive limestone formations, islands and Mangrove forest of the Phang Nga Marine National Park. Continue to the rain forest and mountain ranges of Khao Sok with its abundant flora and fauna home to wild elephants and tigers. The tour is ideal for travelers who want to combine a beach holiday on Thailand’s west and east coast and at the same time explore the nature and local way of life of the south. |

Day 1 Phuket – Phang Nga – Khao Sok (L/D)
In the morning pick up from the hotel in Phuket and drive north to Phang Nga Bay. Boat trip through the large mangrove forests of the bay. Lunch Koh Phanhee a local fishing village built on wooden stilts above the water. After lunch visit the nearby James Bond Island and its famous mushroom rock. After lunch return by boat back to the waiting car. Continue to Khao Sok National Park. Check in at the resort. Dinner at the resort and overnight stay.
Day 2 Khao Sok (B/L/D)
On the second day in Khao Sok explore a lake in the jungle by local boat. The lake is surrounded by Limestone Mountains and cliffs covered by tropical rainforest that rise up from the shore of the lake and disappear into the far distance. The scenery has been compared to Qualin in China or Halong Bay in Vietnam. Few people know of the lake and even less have visited it. There are over one hundred islands in the lake and it is over 60 km from north to south. Return to the resort and the remainder of the day at your leisure.
Day 3 Khao Sok – Surat Thani (B)
After breakfast enjoy elephant trekking through the rain forest and canoeing over the Sok River through the dense jungle. Afterwards (optional) trekking through the jungle in Khao Sok. Opportunity to explore the ecology of the rainforest, to see a great variety of exotic plants, tropical hardwood trees with huge roots, orchids, palms, ferns, bamboos and mosses. Birds such as the hornbill live high up above, gibbon can often be heard calling to their mates, a macaque or leaf monkey may be heard swinging through the branches.
Continue to Surat Thani.
Departure also possible from Khao Lak and Krabi.
Continue to Khao Lak, Phuket or Krabi Hotel. Also drop of at the ferry to Koh Samui possible. End of service. |
