| Intensive visit to Thailand’s ancient capital city Ayutthaya and its magnificent temple complexes. On the way to Ayutthaya explore the local communities and traditional life of Thailand’s Mon people living on an island in the Chao Phraya River. |

Day 1 Bangkok – Koh Kret - Ayutthaya (L)
In the early morning pick up at the hotel in Bangkok. Drive to Pak Kret a local community about 30 km north of the city center. Visit a local market on the banks of Chao Phraya River. Afterwards explore the river by long tail boat around Koh Kret Island. The small island is located in the Chao Phraya River and is home to Mon people who migrated to central Thailand between the 6th and 10th century. Along the way visit a local manufacture of traditional Thai sweets in a small canal of the main river. Afterwards, explore the island, its orchards and small villages by bicycle (Optional). Riding alongside the river you will pass many small villages, temples, fruit and flower plantations. Enjoy your lunch in the riverside restaurant.
After lunch drive to Bang Pa-In and visit the royal summer palace. In the early afternoon continue the tour by long tail boat to Ayutthaya. After arrival in Thailand’s old capital visit Wat Phanang Choen with its huge seated Buddha and the large Chedi of Wat Yai Chai-Mongkol. In the late afternoon check in at the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 2 Ayutthaya (B/L)
After breakfast in the hotel trip by long tail boat along the river around Ayutthaya. Visit to the former Royal Palace Wat Mahathat and Wat Phra Mongkonbophit. Enjoy lunch on board of a rice barge overlooking the scenic river. After lunch visit Wat Phra Ram and the Portuguese Village on the bank of the Chao Phraya River. Afterwards return to the hotel. In the late evening visit a local night market. Discover a variety of local kitchen and taste the specialties served around the market. Drive back to the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 3 Ayutthaya – Bangkok (B)
After breakfast time at your leisure before return to Bangkok airport or hotel.
